Magical Monday Musings with Artist September McGee

"Cafe Series - Brown Eyes"

This is a brand new piece! Just completed!
I had worked on this piece a while back and left it until now.
Many times a piece needs to sit before it is finalized.
This is a pastel painting on board of a lovely woman
who is a wonderful friend.  She has a sweet and endearing
demeanor and always has only kindness to offer everyone.

It was an honor to have her pose for me.  Her eyes tells
the story!

Wishing you a magical Monday!

Terrific Teusday Creations with American Impressionist Artist September McGee

"Under the Red Umbrella IV"

It is suppose to rain today here in Laguna Beach, CA,
so I thought this painting would be
perfect for Terrific Teusday!
I just love the color red. It is such a fun
color to paint with and lends so much
vibrancy to the walls of your home.

I really enjoy the rain and I thoroughly
enjoy painting my Rainy Day series.
This is an oil on panel.

Have a Terrific Teusday!

Monday Musings with American Impressionist Artist September McGee

"Streets of New York - El Miro Cafe II"

                                                    This is one of my
                                            favorite scenes in New York
and I captured it first on film,
then completed this oil on linen
painting with
impasto brush strokes and
an impressionist flavor.

Today is a great day to start
new and fun creative projects
and the best way to do that is
to get out and do it!
Change begins within and all the dreams
we have been harboring in our souls
need to find their way to fulfillment.
The best medicine we can give ourselves
is to be the best person we can be
in all things we do, whether they be
simple chores or huge dreams.

Be your best today and
always and go get your dreams...
they are waiting for you!

Monday Blessings!

Thankful Thursday, a day for gratitude with artist September McGee

Cafe Series - Ruby

This is an oil on panel of one of my
favorite models. I love the way the
eyes and mouth turned out and
the overall look of the piece
makes me happy to be an artist.

Even better, I met this amazing woman
who purchased this painting and it
was such an honor to get to know
her and learn about her creative
side, which is music, and
share creative moments together!

I am grateful to be an artist and
I am honored and grateful to get
to meet the wonderful people who
purchase and enjoy my art!

Blessings!

Tuesday Tribute to New York with American Impressionist Artist September McGee

"Streets of New York - El Miro Cafe II"

I love New York!
It's a city of electricity, fun, flavor
excitement and people...everywhere.
This is an oil painting on linen
depicting people on the sidewalk
near El Miro Cafe just as the rain
was beginning to fall.

Wishing for peace today and
safety for all...everywhere.
May we all find it in our hearts
to stop violence and learn
that love is the only answer.

Blessings to you and
especially to New York today!

Monday Musings with American Impressionist September McGee

"At the Met Series - A Visit with Monet"

I love the Metropolitan Museum in
New York! It houses some of the most
amazing art work in the world!!!
This series - At the Met grew from
my many visits and watching
people stand in front of masterpieces.
Each painting seems to draw in the
viewer and invites them to linger,
enjoy as they lose themselves in
the work of art.

This is an oil on Senso linen
of a woman having a visit with
Monet in his gallery at the Met.
She is a lovely woman and how
lucky am I she was wearing a red scarf
with a red purse!

May all your creations today
big and small
be full of the wonder and joy
of the unlimited potential
within you.

Happy Monday Blessings!

Thankful Thursday Creations with Impressionist Artist September McGee

"Ballet Series - Seated Ballerina #1"

This painting is a pastel on board
of a  beautiful ballerina.
I was trying to capture her
reflection in the mirror, which is
always fun!

Many times we see our
reflection in the mirror and
when we do, say nice things
to ourselves.  BE GRATEFUL
for the wonder we have in
our lives,
the love,
the fun,
the friends,
the freedom.

The world is always reflecting
back to us what we are
sending out.

Today,
send our gratitude,
laughter,
confidence,
a belief in yourself.
Love yourself.
Love life.
Be happy.

Have the most wonderful
day you have ever had!

Blessings,

September McGee

Mid Week Creations with American Impressionist Artist September McGee

"Couch Series - A Special Night"

This is an oil on an Italian Pannelli panel
and is a brand new piece as part of
my Couch Series!

I just finished the final touches of this
piece and wanted to showcase it
in todays creative musings.
The model for this painting
attended my Gala Reception
for my Solo Exhibition.
She is a gorgeous woman
inside and out and
an honor to know
and love!

"I too attended September McGee’s Gala Reception and have to say that there were so many gorgeous themes in September's array of paintings - many of my friends commented on the Street Car and also the orchestra paintings. I had too many favorites to choose just one as I'm a big fan of all of her amazing work. What a lovely night to be surrounded by such beauty and the fact that September’s energy is so warm and inviting."

Monday Musings and Reviews for Solo Exhibition for September McGee

Red Hat Series - Tulips and Chardonnay

This is an original oil custom framed
in gold on display now at
September McGee's
Solo Exhibition
at the
Cottage Gallery
1524 Coast Hwy.
Laguna Beach, CA

Exhibition closes
March 31st!

The Gala Reception
was standing room
only and the
following review
says it all!

September McGee’s Solo Exhibition at the Cottage Gallery in Laguna Beach was a tremendous success. Sometimes a showing of a single artist’s work throughout one gallery can seem repetitious. Not this one. September’s wide variety of subjects, coupled with various techniques and medium, created an exhibit with great appeal and the feeling there were many artists competing for the collector’s attention. September has won over sixteen National Awards for her paintings and several were on display for this showing. The artist was available at her fabulous Gala Reception last Saturday to discuss her work and had the assemblage in awe.”
