Happy New Year - May it be your best year ever! From artist September McGee

"Streets of New York - Red Umbrella V"

Ending the year with one of my favorite series of paintings, my Rainy Day and Streets of New York.  I just love the palette of color and the thickness of the strokes.  These renderings are fun and I am thrilled to end the year with a painting I really like!

May the year 2011 bring you much joy, love,  happiness, good health, prosperity and may each day find you happier than the day before and laughing...a lot!

May you retire each night with gratitude and wake each morning with a desire to be better than yesterday.  Be the best person you can be, give of yourself and the rewards will be plenty. There is a calling for each of us.  May this year find you brimming with joy as you discover your calling and follow your dreams.  May all your moments be extraordinary and your heart filled to capacity.

Happy 2011!!!

Blessings,

September McGee

Fabulous Friday Creations with American Impressionist Artist September McGee

"Streets of New York - Le Figaro Cafe"

This is an original oil painting on Senso linen of a
lovely little cafe on Bleeker Street in New York City.
This piece is part of my Streets of New York Series
and I just love the way the bicycle and the checkered
table cloths and red awnings lend color and fun to this street scene.

I love New York. It is so electric!
I can't wait to paint my next Streets of New York painting.
In the interim I am getting ready for my summer show,
The Sawdust Festival, which runs June 25 - August 29th
in Laguna Beach, CA.

Check my website for more New York paintings at:

Have a fabulous weekend.
Blessings!

Monday Musings with American Impressionist Artist September McGee

"Streets of New York - El Miro Cafe II"

                                                    This is one of my
                                            favorite scenes in New York
and I captured it first on film,
then completed this oil on linen
painting with
impasto brush strokes and
an impressionist flavor.

Today is a great day to start
new and fun creative projects
and the best way to do that is
to get out and do it!
Change begins within and all the dreams
we have been harboring in our souls
need to find their way to fulfillment.
The best medicine we can give ourselves
is to be the best person we can be
in all things we do, whether they be
simple chores or huge dreams.

Be your best today and
always and go get your dreams...
they are waiting for you!

Monday Blessings!

Tuesday Tribute to New York with American Impressionist Artist September McGee

"Streets of New York - El Miro Cafe II"

I love New York!
It's a city of electricity, fun, flavor
excitement and people...everywhere.
This is an oil painting on linen
depicting people on the sidewalk
near El Miro Cafe just as the rain
was beginning to fall.

Wishing for peace today and
safety for all...everywhere.
May we all find it in our hearts
to stop violence and learn
that love is the only answer.

Blessings to you and
especially to New York today!

Thursday News - New Art Awards from Impressionist Artist September McGee

"Streets of New York - Times Square November Rain on 47th Street"

Fabulous News!
This painting was accepted into the
Paint America top 100 National Exhibition!!

This is an oil painting on panel from my
Streets of New York Series.
The night was freezing, but electric and I stayed out
taking photo references until my hands froze to the
camera.  I was determined to capture the energy
of the city. How lucky I was to get the
carriage, the people, the umbrellas and the
feel of the night in this piece!
Notice the walk sign.  I stood in the
street until the cabbies were ready to
mow me over, but I got it!

Determination, hard word and
perseverance always pay off.
Creativity is all about sticking
with it, confidence and
loving what you do.

Wishing you all a creative Thursday
filled with art, laughter
and magic.

Blesssings,

September McGee
