First Painting of 2012!

This is my very first painting of 2012!

"Hills Hotel - Red Chair #1" is an original oil 

on a Raphael Linen Panel - 14" x 11"

This brand new piece represents a direction I will

be heading towards in this wonderful New Year!

This is the year of the dragon...a year for change...

and... this is going to be the best year ever!!!!

My penchant for figurative renderings is even more

passionate than ever!  I am adding some brand new

 colors to my palette, and stretching to new heights

 new techniques, and some novel painterly surfaces 
to launch my 2012 series.

This year, my skin tones will take on porcelain hues

with softer edges and a focus on stunning features;

 distinctive features that draw you in and 
don't allow you to leave.

I plan on accentuating expressive graceful hands,

alluring lips and arresting eyes.

All women are so beautiful, inside and out.  

Capturing this inner beauty 

is my ultimate creative intent.  Portraying this

grace and elegance in my works my 

 hallmark!

My model for the Hills Hotel series is a wonderful,

effervescent, sweet and lovely young woman who
leaves you feeling happy just knowing her.
  She is an absolute joy and it is an honor to work with her.

I invite you, the viewer, to join me

filled with limitless possibilities and dreams come true.

Newest Creation from American Impressionist September McGee

Beach Series - The Yellow Sailboat III,  28" x 28" oil on canvas

The Yellow Sailboat III is my latest painting from my Beach Series!

I created this piece for a lovely woman named Karla,

who commissioned me to paint this little boy at the beach for

her new beach home in Belevedere because it reminds

her of her son when he was a little boy.

I had so much fun painting this little boy with his

yellow sailboat.  Yellow is the color of fun, so it is

no wonder that this was truly an enjoyable creation!

The blues and yellows and subtle grays lend a warm

and inviting feeling to this special moment in time.

This is a brand new painting just off the easel from American Impressionist Artist, September McGee. Best know for her painterly figurative works, California based artist, September McGee has just won her 18th Natinoal Juried Award.

Monday Musings with American Impressionist Artist September McGee

"Streets of New York - El Miro Cafe II"

                                                    This is one of my
                                            favorite scenes in New York

and I captured it first on film,

then completed this oil on linen

painting with

impasto brush strokes and

an impressionist flavor.

Today is a great day to start

new and fun creative projects

and the best way to do that is

to get out and do it!

Change begins within and all the dreams

we have been harboring in our souls

need to find their way to fulfillment.

The best medicine we can give ourselves

is to be the best person we can be

in all things we do, whether they be

simple chores or huge dreams.

Be your best today and

always and go get your dreams...

they are waiting for you!
